My name is Heather Solfelt and I am a nationally Registered Dietitian, Board Certified Specialist in Pediatric Nutrition (CSP) through the Commission on Dietetic Registration, and Certified Dietitian in Wisconsin as well as a Certified Lactation Counselor at Synergos Counseling. I received my Master's degree in Nutrition (Dietetics) from Arizona State University and my Bachelor's degree in Dietetics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. I am passionate about helping individuals discover the profound impact balanced nutrition can have on everyday living as well as therapy for diseases and disorders. I believe my compassion and partnership with clients paired with my knowledge and expertise allows me to empower individuals to work towards a happy, healthy, and peaceful relationship with food. I have enjoyed every aspect of my career path in nutrition and truly believe that food is meant to nourish our bodies as well as our souls. Additionally, I am heartfelt about maternal and infant health and empowering mothers to meet their breastfeeding goals.
I have experience in many areas of nutrition, such as eating disorder nutrition therapy, sports nutrition, maternal nutrition, geriatric nutrition, and local food procurement. I discovered my interest for working with individuals with eating disorders and other mental disorders while working on the inpatient child/adolescent units at Rogers Memorial Hospital. I have also worked for other organizations in the Madison community such as Harbor Athletic Club, Farm to School in Madison through REAP Food Group, and Community GroundWorks. I am also a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics as well as the Behavioral Health Nutrition Dietetics Practice Group.
