My name is Karin Ballard and my pronouns are she/her/hers. I am a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) at Synergos Counseling for the past 3 years. I received my Master’s in nutrition at the University of Illinois at Chicago and Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology and Biology from Washington University in St. Louis. I have been a dietitian for over a decade and have worked with individuals of all ages with a variety of health concerns, including gastrointestinal (GI) conditions, diabetes, sensory feeding difficulties, disordered eating recovery, and food allergies. I am also a Certified Lactation Specialist and have experience working with postpartum nursing moms and infant feeding difficulties.
I have a passion for helping individuals cultivate a positive relationship with food, mind, and body through embracing the principles of Intuitive Eating. People of all ages often struggle with mixed messages about what it means to be “healthy." This can lead to feelings of guilt, frustration, and confusion about food and how to respect and nourish our bodies. Whether you are an individual trying to heal from disordered eating, a parent struggling with how to feed your child, or a person struggling with the symptoms of IBS; I aim to help take each person from a place of confusion to a place of empowerment when it comes to food. I work Mondays and Wednesdays. Complete a client inquiry form here. My name is Christy Killips and my pronouns are she/her/hers. I am a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist at Synergos for the past 2 years. I received my Bachelor's degree in English Literature at Boston College and Master's degrees in Nutrition from Columbia University in New York. Since completing my internship at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, I have devoted my career to helping patients of all ages and this has led to a passion for addressing nutrition issues across the lifespan. I have extensive experience in pediatric nutrition support as well as malnutrition, eating disorders/disordered eating, picky eating, irritable bowel disorder (IBD), other GI conditions, nutrition during and after cancer treatment, and prediabetes/diabetes. After spending time in the home health setting, I understand that the issues that keep us from reaching nutrition goals are often more complicated than they first appear in a hospital or medical clinic setting. As such, I hope to help clients collaboratively work through barriers to achieve their goals. I value flexibility and understanding in my relationships with clients and my goal is to approach each session with an open mind.
